A lifelong Virginian, Lelia returned to Harrisonburg in 2006 to pursue her master’s in Technical Communication at JMU. She now works in resource development at a local non-profit that empowers people with disabilities. Lelia is a passionate advocate for human rights and was compelled to serve New Creation after learning about the mission in 2014. In her free time, she sings with a community choir that raises money for local non-profits and is an athlete involved with two disability sports clubs. She is training to participate in her first para-triathlon in 2016.
